WCHS employees show their support for the Foundation!

Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System Team Members do a great job giving great customer service and respect to WCHS consumers and to their colleagues on a daily basis.  So it’s particularly gratifying to see the support they are giving as we kicked off our first Employee Giving Kick-Off on August 31, 2023!

Employees began showing their support for WHF through one-time giving and through ongoing payroll deductions that go directly toward building healthcare capacity in the community.  WCHS employees know the challenges facing healthcare consumers and deliverers and know the best way to make positive change is by contributing to WHF.  They know all contributions are welcome!

And that even “smaller” contributions given through payroll deductions become a regular source of sustainable support for their community!

Good news!  WHF is officially a 501(c)3 not-for-profit!

Just in time for end-of-year giving!

The Winnebago Health Foundation (WHF) has received its official tax exemption status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).  Although Tribal Organizations fall into a different part of the IRS Tax Code than other not-for-profits, the WHF Board recognized the traditional 501(c) tax code designations were more readily known by more people and made it easier for donors’ tax preparers to designate any contributions to WHF as an official charitable contribution.  Tax filers itemizing their annual contributions can do good by contributing to WHF and can help themselves out on their taxes, too!

Investing in Our People : WHF Awards Scholarships

Even in its first year, the Winnebago Health Foundation is already investing in building up healthcare capacity in the Winnebago Community by awarding scholarships to community members.  Four scholarship recipients are all advancing their individual career goals.  But, perhaps even more importantly, by increasing their healthcare proficiency, they are also helping WCHS increase its overall healthcare delivery!  So Congratulations to Krista Slowman, Antonia Willaims, Dillon Bearskin, and Anna Berridge – both for your dedication to yourselves and your families as you increase your education and to your community as that proficiency translates into greater services for our relatives!
